Health & Safety Accreditation
In 2022 Shipley Structures Limited became accredited to BS ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
This standard helps organisations create an effective Occupational Health & Safety Management System to mitigate risk and improve business performance through a safer working environment.
It helps to reduce workplace-related risks and provide a structured framework for the health, safety and well-being of employees and everyone else who visits the workplace. This is achieved by controlling factors that could potentially lead to injury and illness.
The Occupational Health and Safety Management System is our commitment to maintain and provide a safe and healthy workplace with the goal to reduce occupational injuries and diseases.

Health & Safety Policy
It is the policy of Shipley Structures Limited that operations performed by the company are in accordance with Shipley Structures Limited Safety Policy, our Occupational Health and Safety Management system and the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, in terms of both spirit of the act and its legal obligations.
The company recognises that it is one of its prime responsibilities to provide facilities, safeguards and systems of work which will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the Health, Safety and Welfare at work of its employees.
Mitch Weston is the Director responsible to implement and maintain the policy through the use of the policy arrangements. His duties and that of the other directors, senior managers and employees are detailed in the company Health and Safety Policy.
In order to avoid incidents, good working practices are to be employed. Accordingly, there is a responsibility on all company personnel to familiarise themselves with their duties as detailed in the policy, in order to ensure high standards of safety and working practices.
The success of the Health and Safety Policy and our Occupational Health and Safety Management System will only be achieved by the continued contribution of all company employees. The appointed director, along with the Company’s independent safety adviser, will monitor and relay the operation of the document.
This statement is to be displayed in a prominent position at all work locations and issued to all employees. A copy of the Health & Safety Policy with full details of the organisation and arrangements for implementing the same will also be available at each work location and site, for use and reference by an employee.

Environmental Accreditation
In 2022 Shipley Structures Limited became accredited to BS EN ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems.
This standard helps organisations create an effective Environmental Management System, designed to measure and improve current environmental performance, demonstrate compliance with current and future statutory and regulatory requirements, engage employees and improve company reputation and the confidence of stakeholders through a better environmental performance.
The EMS is our commitment to a more efficient, conscious use of the earth’s resources by continually improving our systems and approach to environmental concerns.

In 2022 Shipley Structures Limited became accredited to BS EN ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems.
This standard helps organisations create an effective Quality Management System through customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, evidence-based decision making and relationship management. It helps to establish standardised processes, monitor performance and take corrective actions to maintain and improve the quality of products/services.

SSIP Accreditation
In 2021 Shipley Structures Limited became accredited to SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement).
The SSIP accreditation includes core criteria that helps to assess health and safety competence of contractors working within the construction industry. SSIP is a standard to confirm organisational competence and compliance with UK health and safety standards.
The SSIP accreditation aims to streamline and encourage straightforward mutual recognition between existing health and safety prequalification schemes.

Constructionline Gold
In 2022 Shipley Structures Limited achieved Constructionline Gold.
Constructionline is a prequalification platform that is widely used across the construction industry, that brings buyers and suppliers together. It is a platform that allows buyers to pre-approve suppliers to carry out sector specific sub-contractor works. By achieving Constructionline Gold we have met the pre-qualification requirements and now hold the potential to be appointed without having to continually demonstrate our competencies to individual buyers or contractors.
Many of our existing Main Contractor partners now require Constructionline Gold as a minimum level of certification.
