From 1^st July 2014, all steel structures must be supplied by CE compliant contractors to comply with UK and EU law. Components manufactured from structural steelwork may be CE marked once they demonstrate compliance with the relevant harmonised European Standard.

The European Standard relevant to structural steelwork components is BS EN 1090.
