The above lifting capacities can also be complemented by mobile cranes to accommodate larger structures, when required.
The total inside manufacturing facilities covers an area of 25,000 square feet, with outside storage areas of 7 acres.
Production Plant
- CNC controlled automated saw/drill line, capable of processing the full range of steel sections.
- A fully automated fittings system.
- Bandsaw: up to 660mm wide sections.
- Guillotine: up to 3000mm x 10mm thick.
- Triple head CNC profile burning machine
- 85 tonne capacity Punch
- Radial drills
- Automatic shot-blasting facilities
- Paint booth with rolling trestle facility to ensure speed of painting and quality of finish.
Continuous development of plant and machinery is an ongoing process in order to maintain maximum production efficiency.
Welding
- Manual Metal Arc (Basic, Rutile and stainless)
- Metal Inert Gas (Bare wire and stainless)
- Metal Active Gas (Fluxed cored, metal cored and bare wire)
- Flux cored Arc Weld
Procedures
Approved procedures for the above processes are implemented for carbon steel and stainless steel in accordance with BSEN288 Part 3, or equivalent BS4870 Part 1 and ASME IX.
Welders
Qualified to the following codes:
- BSEN287 Part 1, or equivalent BS4871, Part 1
- ASME IX
Fabrication and Welding Inspection
Visual fabrication inspection is carried out in-house by a competent inspector.
Non-destructive testing is undertaken by an approved contractor, through our quality system, for the following processes:
- MPI, Dye penetrant, Ultrasonic and Radiographic.
Fabrication
Fabrication will be undertaken in accordance with BS5950, Part 2, BS5135, National Structural Steelwork Specification (5th Edition) and Shipley Structures Limited Standard Manufacture Control Procedures.
Other standards would be employed to suit specific contract requirements.
